If you are using a computer on board for navigation or weather, be sure to check all of you devices before upgrading to Windows 10.
I am working on updating some of the electronics on a 50′ Nordhaven. Their computer crashed that they use for backup navigation. They bought a Windows 10 laptop. So far the Nobeltec Charting software has been the easiest to install and update. Also when I had to call Tech Support for the update, they were great to work with and made it almost effortless to do the update.
I can not say the same for the rest of the install. The GPS antennas for the WxWorx and the Nobeltec do not work with Windows 10. Fortunately their replacements are only $30 each.
The WxWorx install has been the most difficult install I have had in a while. I have been working on it for 10 days and it is still not working. The receiver is Gen 1 and I believe that it too is incompatible with Windows 10. I am at the point of replacing the entire system. I welcome any advice.
